Butterblock was born from founder Karen Kong’s passion for baking without limits. After honing her skills in Calgary’s busiest kitchens and graduating from SAIT’s Baking and Pastry Arts program, Karen set out to create something of her own free from preset recipes and restrictions. Today, Butterblock is known for its 81-layer croissants, cookies, and laminated doughs that reflect both discipline and creativity. Every bite carries Karen’s dedication, resilience, and love for the craft of baking.
